The 2025/26 season will mark a new step in Inter’s young talent development strategy. After Spal’s exclusion from Serie C due to its failure to be granted a National License, the Federal Council gave the green light for the registration of the Nerazzurri’s second team in the professional league. Inter U23 will thus be the fourth formation “B” in the Italian football scene, after Juventus Next Gen, Atalanta U23 and Milan Futuro with the goal of growing its youngsters in a competitive and structured environment.

Inter’s new adventure starts with a solid foundation. On the bench will be Stefano Vecchi, an experienced and well-known coach in the Nerazzurri environment. Already at the helm of Inter’s Primavera team between 2014 and 2018 (with no less than six trophies won), Vecchi has also temporarily led the first team on two occasions. The agreement with the Bergamo coach includes a contract until 2027, confirming a medium- to long-term project.

Managing the technical area will be Gianluca Andrissi, an experienced and already active figure within the Nerazzurri structure. A former sporting director of Spezia and Feralpisalò, Andrissi has 18 years of work in the youth sectors behind him and will bring a deep knowledge of Serie B and Lega Pro, which is essential to build a competitive roster.

The official name of the team and the stadium in which it will play remain to be determined: the U-Power Stadium in Monza is among the most concrete options, while training will be held at the Interello sports center. The date circled in red is July 18, the deadline for completing all the formal steps necessary for registration.
