Closing what, despite the loss in the Scudetto final against Virtus Bologna, remains the best season ever in Serie A for Germani Brescia, the white and blue club wanted to say goodbye to coach Peppe Poeta, who chose to terminate his contract with the club to accept the proposal of Olimpia Milano, which will entrust him with the role of assistant to Ettore Messina.

“I thank coach Giuseppe Poeta – said Pallacanestro Brescia CEO Mauro Ferrari, then addressing the now former coach directly.

In a few minutes, during a dinner, I understood how much of a man there was in him, and I chose the man even before the coach. You will have an important career. I, Basketball Brescia and the city, will always carry you in our hearts”.

“Remember your promise made last night: to invite me as soon as possible to a Euroleague final. Your gesture yesterday, in the world of sports, is a gesture of rare mission. Thank you again, Giuseppe. Your parents can truly be proud of you. Simple esteem, we gave each other moments that will remain forever in our lives” Ferrari concluded.

Peppe Poeta, class of 1985, reached with Brescia the first Scudetto final in the club&#8217s history, in his first year as head coach after experiences as a deputy in the national team and at Olimpia Milano. Next season he will return precisely to the Lombard capital, bringing to Coach Messina&#8217s staff all the experience he gained in biancazzurro.
