In this first part of the season, there is a clear need for Lazio to sign a quality reinforcement for Maurizio Sarri’s midfield, which would like to fix the roster already in the winter soccer market session. Certainly Claudio Lotito cannot afford exaggerated expenses, but the Biancoceleste management has already started to evaluate several options, and among them is Lazar Samardžić, who was expected to find more space at Atalanta. The 2002 class star was also approached by Lazio in the summer, then chose to continue his career in Bergamo by signing a contract until 2029.

Following Atalanta&#8217s initial difficulties with Ivan Juric, the former Udinese player has not found pleasant space and even with Raffaele Palladino things have not changed much. So far Lazar Samardžić has played less than 600 minutes spread over 16 appearances between Serie A, Champions League and Coppa Italia, too meager a haul to make the talented Serbian midfielder satisfied. Between Samardžić and Lazio, however, there is a major obstacle: Atalanta values its star player at around 15 million euros, a figure considered excessive by Lazio. Transfer possibilities could only increase if the player puts great pressure on the Orobic club.

Grew up in Hertha Berlin, Lazar Samardžić also played in Leipzig before coming to Italy thanks to Udinese. The Friulian club, always very active in scouting young talent from abroad, shelled out 3 million euros to sign the Serbian in 2021. In Udine, the player established himself as one of the best talents in our league, and his great technical qualities immediately emerged, allowing him to score 13 goals and serve 10 assists in the 98 appearances he collected with the Friulians. In the summer of 2024, Atalanta signed him on an onerous loan (5 million euros) and last summer bought him back for about 15 million euros. The next stage of his career could be at Roma sponda biancoceleste.

The capital club is also working on the disposals front: the hypothesis of a farewell of two players who have so far played an important role within the biancoceleste squad, Matteo Guendouzi and Taty Castellanos, is becoming increasingly concrete. From England, in particular, details are emerging about the fate of the midfielder, for whom Sunderland, a Premier League club that has done very well in this first part of the season, is ready to invest in order to aim for qualification for the European cups. As for Castellanos, on the other hand, Spanish media are reporting Villarreal’s interest in the Argentine striker. The Yellow Submarine is third in the La Liga standings, five points behind leading Barcelona, and dreaming big.
