Juventus market, comeback for Mauro Icardi

After the mere “suggestion” that emerged in January (as Giorgio Chiellini called it), Mauro Icardi’s name is back in circulation in the Juventus orbit. The Argentine striker could be free from Galatasaray in about a month’s time, although some contacts have been initiated to discuss a possible contract renewal.

At the moment, the former Inter captain does not represent the Bianconeri club’s top priority in case of the departure of Dusan Vlahovic, for whom Juventus continues to hope for an extension. However, Icardi is among the profiles being monitored by Luciano Spalletti, who would like to include a reliable and experienced forward in the squad.

According to reports in La Stampa, Icardi’s name continues to remain on the table especially since Juventus may have to intervene with two offensive grafts. With this in mind, a freed striker, with long experience in Serie A and low cost, would be a particularly interesting solution to complete the department.

The old frictions with Spalletti, dating back to their common experience at Inter, seem to be over. The interest expressed by Juventus back in January would be a confirmation of this, leaving open the possibility of a new assault on the Argentine in the next market window.
