Mattia Casse also wins off the track and donates a thermal cradle

The solidarity goal has been reached. Light blue ski sprinter Mattia Casse delivered to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of Bergamo’s Papa Giovanni XXIII Hospital a thermal cradle from Atom Medical Corp. Japan donated to the Association for Infant Aid.
The cradle was purchased thanks to donations, amounting to €38,000, collected during the Charity Dinner in Bergamo and at the Castelli 24H bike race in Feltre, which Mattia sponsored, in support of the “Six Hundred BEATS for the NICU” project.
The donated thermal cradle is a state-of-the-art incubator to care for young patients with a dual heating system, two temperature control modes and humidity servo control. The system has an external control unit equipped with a color touch-screen display to set and display monitored parameters, and a variable-height, electrically adjustable trolley that allows the height of the crib top to be adjusted to that of the operator.
“I am truly excited, the amount raised exceeded all expectations, and more than 200 people and companies have generously donated – said Casse. “The new crib, which joins those already in the department, will be used for new babies and represents concrete help and hope for so many little ones in need and their families. To tangibly support a department of excellence in the hospital of the city of Bergamo, which has warmly welcomed me, fills me with happiness. I want to thank all those who have joined my initiatives with enthusiasm and passion, and I make a promise: this is just the beginning”.
“On behalf of the entire ASST Papa Giovanni XXIII, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Mattia Casse with Six Hundred BEATS for the NICU, the Associazione Aiuto al Neonato and all their supporters for this extraordinary gesture of generosity – said Francesco Locati, General Director of ASST Papa Giovanni XXIII -. The donation of this modern thermal cradle represents a valuable contribution to our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, among the flagships of the pediatric vocation of Bergamo Hospital. The project ‘Six Hundred BEATS for the NICU’ demonstrates how sports can be a vehicle for authentic values and concrete solidarity. The passion and the’commitment that the blue champion has put into this initiative are a shining example of how personal success can turn into benefit for those who need it most”.
