EuroBasket Women, Capobianco finds key to beating Belgium

Andrea Capobianco, head coach of the women’s national basketball team, spoke at a press conference on the eve of the European Championship semifinal with Belgium: “We are expecting another game of a crazy level, on the other hand since the beginning of the European Championship we have been playing against odds. Belgium is the defending champion and aims for gold together with France and Spain”.
“We want to make life difficult for them as well– added the coach of the Azzurre -, they are a team that plays a very effective choral basketball and knows how to make the most of the talent of its four stars. Meesseman stands out above them all, an incredible player and balancer of rare effectiveness. They are good at taking advantage and even better at maintaining it throughout the action, often starting from pick’n’roll” situations.
“We will have to be very good, as we were with Turkey, at changing the angles of play to worsen the quality of their passing lines and then we have to keep alive the statistic that we are the best in lost balls and among the first in offensive rebounds allowed”.
“Extreme attention to detail, that will be the key: otherwise a team as strong and seasoned as Belgium won“t beat them. The girls have had a resounding application since the first day of the gathering and do not want to stop, let”s work to overcome our limitations and fuel our dream” concluded Capobianco.
