MotoGP, Netherlands GP: Fabio Quartararo soars in pre-qualifying

Fabio Quartararo is back in the spotlight in Assen. In fact, the French Yamaha rider set the best time in the pre-qualifying for the Dutch Grand Prix, closing the session with an excellent 1:31.156. An important result for Quartararo, who was able to take advantage of a session full of pitfalls and breaks to put himself ahead of everyone, confirming that he is particularly at ease on the Dutch circuit.
Short behind the Frenchman were Alex Marquez, who showed good pace after an early crash, and young Pedro Acosta on the Ktm. Fourth time for Marco Bezzecchi, who continues to grow after a complicated start to the season, followed by Francesco Bagnaia, author of a consistent turn but unable to find the decisive cue to stay ahead. Sixth Marc Marquez, protagonist of a fall just in the final bars, nothing particularly serious for the Spanish rider. The Ducati rider still gained direct access to Q2.
The session was marked by numerous crashes and two red flags, necessary after the accidents of Ai Ogura and Lorenzo Savadori: fortunately, both riders came out unharmed. The Assen track put many riders in trouble: in addition to Alex Marquez and Marc Marquez, Aldeguer, Morbidelli, Zarco, Bastianini and Espargaró also ended up on the ground.
Closing the top ten were Di Giannantonio, Vinales, Morbidelli and Zarco. Among the big names forced to go through Q1 include heavy names such as Enea Bastianini, Aldeguer, Brad Binder and Ai Ogura.
