First Sports Kindness Course for children and youth a success
At Camp AICS Azzurro 2000 in Lignano Sabbiadoro at the Italia Bella Village’Italia Bella Village the First Kindness in Sport Course for children and youth along with Instructors from both Italian and Austrian participants.
After receiving the Building Kindness in Sport Award in 2024 for her commitment to promoting youth sports combined with life skills training with messages of inclusion and integration, the Director of Azzurro 2000 believed in the Kindness Project by giving it concrete form by launching as a pilot project the first Kindness Course for children and youth along with Instructors.
“To the award received – explains Tiziana Candoni – we wanted to give concreteness and continuity of teachings. Kindness should not be an award, but a widespread behavior”.
The unique and innovative course, led by Kindness Manager Silvia Sardi, aims precisely to teach how to recognize kindness and bring it into one’s own spheres. How? By coaching it. Just as new sports are practiced in a sports camp, supporting kids from an educational and social point of view, kindness should be recognized, coached, communicated, nurtured and spread.
Kindness that is linked to an educational goal, highlighting how it is expressed and how it is enhanced with positive stories.
Practicing kindness means respecting, listening, allowing space, giving a chance to express oneself, providing opportunities.
Theoretical and practical lessons on kindness were held at the camp, with Austrian and Italian children creating an alphabet of kindness in German and Italian.
At the end, Kindness Certificates were presented to both the Austrian school and one of the Italian Campers’ Instructors Manuel Muscio and Sara Iacomino, and to the participants of AICS Azzurro 2000 for participating in the Kindness Course and in turn becoming Kindness Builders in the continuation of the Camp and their sports activities.
The “Let’s Build Kindness in Sports” award, which values Kindness through sports, sportsmen and sportswomen, was presented to Azzurro 2000 and its director Tiziana Candoni for her commitment to promoting sports for all by offering educational and social support, technical since 2000.
The award, represented by the Building Kindness Jersey is a symbol that aims to bring kindness to be a widespread behavior among young people, who will be the kind people, men and women of tomorrow.
Teacher Tiziana Candoni was presented with the award for 33 years of camp for children and youth aged 6 to 17 years old putting in constancy, professionalism and passion for youth and sports.
Sports as a teacher of life is a way to educate and communicate with young people who need guides.
In the Camps of Azzurro 2000, young people are supervised day and night (with nighttime supervision) by qualified instructors, teachers, who follow the children step by step in their activities. Sport educates cooperation, educates to adapt and respect others’others.
