Thomas Ceccon reveals the secret of his medals

On the microphones of Radio Sportiva spoke Thomas Ceccon, one of the cover faces of the World Swimming Championships in which he won the gold medal in the 100 backstroke (with world record) and the mixed relay, as well as bronze in the 4×100 freestyle.

“In the 100 backstroke I was missing the two Russians, I knew I could play for it but not up to that point,” he said. “And also in the other two individual races I did, the 50 backstroke and the 50 dolphin, I came close to the podium, in short I did a World Championship beyond my expectations,” he recounted. We wanted it, Nicolò (Martinenghi, ed.) who is the ranist said ‘guys think if today we go on the podium and sing for the first time the anthem all together, something that never happened in Italy,’ it was an opportunity because the U.S. was missing Dressel, they also defended well but we made it with a very good time (European record equaled, ed.) we did 4 crazy fractions so I would say we deserved it.”
