Cremonese has made official an’important news for its bench: Davide Nicola has been chosen as the new coach of the first team. The Piedmontese coach has signed a contract that will bind him to the grigiorosso club until June 30, 2027, and he will be called upon to lead Cremonese in the upcoming Serie A season, with the goal of achieving salvation.

Nicola, born in 1973, brings with him a long experience gained in different Italian clubs, especially in complex situations. After a playing career that saw him star in Serie A and Serie B, Nicola embarked on a coaching career in 2010, making his debut with Lumezzane in Lega Pro. The first breakthrough came with Livorno, with whom he won promotion to the top division in 2012 thanks to success in the Serie B playoffs.

The coach from Turin became known for his salvation feats, starting with the historic stay in Serie A achieved with Crotone in the 2016-17 season. Since then, Nicola has specialized in guiding struggling teams to safety, also achieving important results with Genoa, Torino, Salernitana, Empoli and Cagliari. His ability to motivate groups and his clear vision of the game have made him a highly regarded coach in the Italian football scene.

Cremonese’s choice to rely on Nicola represents a purposeful decision: to bet on an experienced technician, accustomed to fighting with determination in the most difficult contexts, to best face the challenging season that awaits the grigiorossi in Serie A.

The club welcomed Nicola with great enthusiasm, wishing him well in his work and placing full confidence in his guidance for the future of the club.
