Brescia basketball bets on Matteo Cotelli: comes the'announcement

After Peppe Poeta’s farewell, who will return to Milan as Ettore Messina’s deputy, Pallacanestro Brescia has announced that it has entrusted Matteo Cotelli with the position of head coach of the vice-champion club of Italy. It is, in fact, an internal choice: in fact, Cotelli has held technical positions within the biancoblù reality since 2011, starting with the youth team and then reaching the first team, arriving in recent years to the role of assistant coach.
“An extended period of time – explains the Lombard club in the note in which it officially announces its new head coach -, in which Matteo Cotelli has been able to complete his professional growth path to the fullest, working in close contact with important coaches and being appreciated for his preparation and empathy towards the athletes and the whole environment”.
With Brescia, Cotelli won a promotion to Serie A at the end of the 2015/2016 championship, with Andrea Diana as head coach, and then won as assistant to Alessandro Magro the 2023 Italian Cup. In the season just ended, he was at Peppe Poeta’s side throughout the cavalcade that took the Biancoblù all the way to the last act of the championship, the Scudetto final then lost to Virtus Bologna.
In addition to his role as coach, Cotelli is also one of the main speakers at the Pallacanestro Brescia Academy clinics, a series of meetings dedicated to the technical updating of the coaches of the clubs affiliated with the biancoblù reality, in which he touches on and delves into various topics related to the game of basketball.
