Jannik Sinner crosses the Wimbledon round of 16 without any problems after a crushing victory over Spaniard Pedro Martinez, beaten by a round 6-1, 6-3, 6-1. But at the end of the match against the number 52 in the ATP rankings, the South Tyrolean made it clear that he had no attention to settle.

“I am very happy with this victory, it is clear. We all noticed, though, that Pedro had some problems with his shoulder–Sinner admitted in the heat.&#8211 Because of that, he couldn&#8217t serve well, and we know that on the grass it&#8217s not easy to play if you have trouble serving. So my respect for him is utmost, if only for the fact that he came here to play with this problem”.

“As for me – Sinner continued, -I tried to maintain solidity at the back of the court. Then between us there were very nice exchanges, even in a setting like Wimbledon where it is always an honor to come and play. To be in front of so many sportsmen, who have come here especially for you is really something fantastic”.

Sinner’s next engagement will then be next Monday, against Grigor Dimitrov, who afterwards on Saturday afternoon got the better of Sebastian Ofner. And the San Candido champion is already ready: “Going into the second week of a Slam is always something special, at Wimbledon it is even more so. I am very happy, this first week has been flawless. But we still have to push, let” let”s see what awaits us in the next one.
