Gianluigi Donnarumma swept up in controversy

During the Club World Cup quarterfinals between Paris Saint Germain and Bayern Munich, Jamal Musiala was seriously injured. While attempting to intercept a ball, the German star collided with Gianluigi Donnarumma.
Musiala’s ankle became trapped under the weight of the PSG goalkeeper and made an unnatural movement. The young striker immediately burst into tears: the injury is very serious and he was carried off the field on a stretcher.
Many Bayern Munich fans and others took it out on Donnarumma: the goalkeeper published a post wishing Musiala a speedy recovery, but controversy broke out in the comments. Several people attacked the PSG goalkeeper: according to them, Donnarumma came out in a dangerous way against Musiala.
Even Manuel Neuer was not very kind after the match: “There was no need to go in like that. That way you run a real risk of hurting an opponent. Donnarumma consciously accepted that risk. I asked him if he wanted to go and see how Musiala was doing. It is a matter of respect. In the end he did, but fair play should not be a choice, it should be a given”.
