Daniel Brown wins BMW International Open and gets emotional

Daniel Brown wins the BMW International Open, one of the top stops on the DP World Tour, and is emotional. With a -22 total and a final round of 66 strokes, he claimed victory on the Golfclub München Eichenried course. Brown, 30, dedicated the success to a recently deceased friend, keeping a cool head in a hard-fought finish against compatriot Jordan Smith.
The match was decided in an all-British duel: the two were tied at -20 after nine holes. Brown took the lead by three strokes thanks to a birdie on 6. Smith tried to respond with birdies on 7 and 9, but a bogey on 10 and two consecutive errors on 13 and 14 paved the way for Brown. The latter set the seal with a final birdie on the par-5 18th, closing with a 66 and clinching his second DP World Tour victory. He thus becomes the sixth Englishman to win on the Race to Dubai 2025. Smith, with a final 67, had to settle for second place at -20, just like last year.
Among the Italians, a great performance by Francesco Laporta, seventh with -15 (71-65-72-65), thanks to an excellent last round of 65. Andrea Pavan finished 38th at -9 (73-65-73-68). Fatal cuts instead for Edoardo Molinari (71-73), Jacopo Vecchi Fossa (70-75), Guido Migliozzi (77-69) and Gregorio De Leo (78-70).
