First surprise at the Giro d'Italia Women

The Clusone-Aprica gives the first big surprise of the Giro d’Italia Women 2025. Anna Henderson brings Britain back to the pink jersey after nearly 16 years thanks to a move born with 40 km to go, together with Dilixyne Miermont.
Too late was the reaction of the big group, which finished 26 seconds behind, set by Soraya Paladin. The main peloton of 21 athletes did not include Lotte Kopecky and Marianne Vos, both of whom struggled on the last climb. In the general classification, Henderson – who also wears the Maglia Rossa and Maglia Azzurra – now leads with 15″ over Marlen Reusser and 31″ over Elisa Longo Borghini.
On Tuesday, the caravan will tackle the Vezza d’Oglio-Trento, passing through the Passo del Tonale (1,883 m), Cima Alfonsina Strada of this edition.
