Olimpia Milan and Pippo Ricci forward together

Olympia Milano announced through a note that it has reached an agreement to extend the contract of captain Giampaolo Ricci until 2027. “I am happy to continue my path at Olimpia for another two years at least,” said the former Virtus Bologna. “Milan is like a second home for me: I am proud to continue to fight, grow and build something special for this jersey and for our fans. Together!”.
Giampaolo Ricci, born in Rome on Sept. 27, 1991, 2.02 in stature, a power forward, arrived in Milan in the summer of 2021, coming from Virtus Bologna. He was named co-captain of Olimpia in the summer of 2024. He won the 2023/24 Scudetto averaging 3.6 points per contest; the 2022/23 Scudetto with 3.8 points and 2.1 rebounds per game, shooting 59.3% from two-point range and 42.6% from three-point range; he won the 2021/22 Scudetto scoring 3.5 points and 3.1 rebounds on average during the playoffs. He won the 2024 Supercup by averaging 5.0 points and 3.5 rebounds and the 2022 Italian Cup, scoring 5.7 points per contest in the final three games.
Ricci made his national team debut on Nov. 29, 2018, in Brescia, Italy’s win over Lithuania. He played in the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo (4.3 points and 2.7 rebounds average), the 2022 European Championships, and at the 2023 World Championships he scored 9.6 points per contest on average.
Ricci’s teammate was a member of the Italian National Team.
