Wimbledon: Sinner, Cobolli and Sonego in the hunt for a record

Three Italians in the second week of Wimbledon. It has never happened before on English grass (last time with three Italians playing in the round of 16 of a Slam at Roland Garros in 2021). Jannik Sinner, Flavio Cobolli and Lorenzo Sonego are now aiming to improve this record even further, trying, all three of them, to win a pass to the quarterfinals.
All three will take the court today. The first to play will be Flavio Cobolli, expected to challenge veteran Marin Cilic. The match is scheduled on court 2 (first match of the day, then at 12:00 noon). For the Roman tennis player, author, up to now, of a resounding path, a great opportunity to continue dreaming.
After winning the marathon match with Brandon Nakashima, Lorenzo Sonego is aiming to repeat himself against Ben Shelton, his executioner at the’last Roland Garros. The two will compete on court 1 (second match of the day after the Alexandrova-Bencic challenge).
Finally, as the last match on center court, fans will enjoy the world number 1 who, after having swept Pedro Martinez, will take on Grigor Dimitrov, an opponent to be taken with caution (the’azzurro holds a 4-1 advantage in direct clashes). Three matches featuring Italian tennis players. No one is off to a defeated start, everyone has a chance to continue the journey at Wimbledon.
