Jannik Sinner, special training with protection at injured elbow
The day has arrived for the quarterfinal match at Wimbledon between Jannik Sinner and Ben Shelton. The two will take the court on Court 1 around 4 p.m. as the second match on the program.
The South Tyrolean, who qualified thanks to Dimitrov’s injury withdrawal, is not at his best and, after Tuesday’s closed-door workout, he held another one Wednesday morning, this time for the benefit of cameras and photographers.
At 11:30 a.m. the world No. 1 worked with Jacopo Vasamì on the courts at Aorangi Park. One detail was not missed: the injured right elbow was protected by a white sleeve.
Jacopo Vasamì, 17-year-old Roman world No. 2 at junior level, is left-handed like Ben Shelton and was also chosen for this detail to prepare for a match that no longer appears to be at risk.
