Novak Djokovic surprised by Flavio Cobolli and issues challenge to Jannik Sinner

“First of all, congratulations to Flavio Cobolli for a great tournament and a great battle” remarked Novak Djokovic immediately after his comeback victory in four sets (6-7 6-2 7-5 6-4) over the Blue in the quarterfinal match at Wimbledon.

“I had played against him once on concrete but we have often trained together, I had seen him here but there’s a big difference between training and playing – added the Serbian champion.

He surprised me with the courage with which he played, he is talented and I am sure we will see him on the circuit for a long time to come”.

The 24-time Slam champion fell in the&#8217last game, frightening his fans: “At the end I slipped, on the grass it happens, this year it had never happened. But I am fine”.

“Wimbledon was, is and will be the most special tournament in our sport. It is so important for me at 38 years old to play in the final days here at Wimbledon. It&#8217s something that makes me feel young to compete against young guys like Cobolli. And speaking of young I will have Jannik Sinner in the semifinals: I can&#8217t wait, it will be a great match” concluded Djokovic.
