The end of the Christian Horner’s era at Red Bull is still being discussed. It was also discussed by former Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone who, to the RacingNews365 website, revealed some background.

“I talked to him the day before and he didn&#8217t know anything. Maybe he knew, but he didn’t tell me. It was a normal conversation. We were talking about Max Verstappen. He had nothing to do with it, otherwise he would have told me”.

“All I know is the message that the whole world got, which is that he was fired, effective immediately. The fact that he left like that I don&#8217t understand. Why did they ask him to leave with immediate effect? It seems as if he killed someone”.

.

And again: “If you want to fire someone, you talk first and say something like, ‘We agreed to separate,’ or something like that. But if you go so far as to say, ‘You are fired effective immediately,’ then there must have been something very extreme to make it happen. Not being satisfied with the results is one thing. But being fired with immediate effect, that’s a whole other story”.
