The 2024-2025 season may have been Denzel Valentine’s only one with the Trieste basketball jersey. The U.S. basketball player, in fact, has reportedly expressed his desire to start a new chapter in his career and his name has been mentioned, in particular, to Reyer Venezia, which is looking for a reinforcement capable of playing both guard and wing.

According to reports from ‘La Nuova Venezia’, Valentine (also being pursued by other Italian and European clubs) would like to continue his basketball adventure in Italy, as he has been very comfortable from the point of view of adapting his game to the pace of the Italian league, as evidenced by his 15.3-point average and 7 games with at least 20 points on the scoreboard.

There would be, however, to file the economic aspects of the negotiation, although there is no shortage of time available: the Orogranata club, in fact, has scheduled its summer retreat in the week of August 24-30 in Falcade and expects to further shore up the roster at coach Neven Spahija’s disposal, starting with this very negotiation, by that date.

A 1993 class, Denzel Valentine came out of Michigan State University and was chosen 14th in the NBA Draft, with the Chicago Bulls calling. After splitting his time between NBA (Chicago, Cleveland, Utah) and G-League (Windy City, Maine), Valentine chose Australia in 2023, playing for one season with the Sydney Kings, before moving to Italy in March 2024, to complete the season with Olimpia Milano. In the summer he transferred to Trieste, where he contributed to the Giulians’excellent season as a newly promoted team.
