Virtus Bologna, black smoke for Gabriele Procida: ready the'alternative

Gabriele Procida will not be, at least for now, a Virtus Bologna player. According to a report by ‘La Repubblica’, in fact, the class of 2002 guard, who has played in the last three seasons in Germany, at Alba Berlin, would not be convinced by the Bologna club’s offer and would prefer to look around further before making a final decision on his future.
While waiting to understand the further developments of the negotiation, Virtus Bologna has already set its sights on another player of the same position, Abraham Canka: for ‘Sportando’ the player who grew up in the Stella Azzurra, strong in the last three years of the experience in the American college tournaments (more precisely at UCLA, Wake Forest and Stetson), the agreement would be at the details and would only lack the signature to make it official.
23 years old in March, born in Genoa to a Senegalese father and a Kosovar mother, Abramo Canka could thus make his debut in the Italian top league after a series of experiences abroad that, in addition to the NCAA, have allowed him to compete between 2020 and 2022 with the Russian championship, with the Lokomotiv Kuban jersey, and with the Lithuanian one, with KK Nevezis. Canka also played in Roseto, in A2, from 2018 to 2020.
Canka would thus enrich the guard pool at the disposal of Virtus Bologna coach Dusko Ivanovic, which has seen the recent confirmations of Alessandro Pajola and Daniel Hackett, as well as the signing of Saliou Niang, currently engaged in the NBA Summer League after being chosen with the 58th call of the Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers.
