Jannik Sinner returns to the most difficult moment and dottes the i’s and t’s

Before thinking about the upcoming season, it is still time for reflection for Jannik Sinner after his splendid success at Wimbledon, the first by an Italian in the London Grand Slam tournament. Interviewed by the ‘BBC’, the world number 1 wanted to make one point definitively clear: the three-month suspension for the “Clostebol” case has only increased his thirst for victories.
“I also had a chance to talk about it with Iga – said Sinner referring to Swiatek, the winner of the women’s tournament, who like him went through a difficult time off the court, in this specific case at the end of last season -. In a way we celebrated even more, because both she and I went through a tough time”.
“Only me, my team and those close to me know how it’s been, and I think the same applies to Iga and her team. There’s always someone who believes in you and someone who believes less, it applies to every context. However, all of this made this victory even more special, because it comes at the end of months that were stressful” to say the least.
After a three-month suspension agreed upon with Wada, Jannik Sinner returned to a high level right away, earning a spot in the finals at the Internazionali d’Italia and Roland Garros, where he nonetheless surrendered to Carlos Alcaraz. Things were different at Wimbledon, where the South Tyrolean managed to break the taboo by bringing home his fourth career Grand Slam tournament.
