Ferrari on track at Mugello: new suspension towards Spa

Ferrari was the protagonist of a filming day at the Mugello circuit, useful to test on track some of the expected technical innovations that should improve the SF-25’s performance. Due to FIA rules, Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton (both on track) were not allowed to exceed a total of 200 km. But the changes, especially in the suspension, were there.
The
update is particularly to deal more effectively with Ferrari’s ground clearance. In fact, one of the problems that are affecting Leclerc and Hamilton’s 2025 on track concerns the rear end, which especially under braking lacks stability. This explains the many checks the two have often had to make, resulting in frustrations and complaints (especially from the Briton).
The approximately 40 total laps run on Mugello, with a basic set-up as required by the FIA, nevertheless brought useful data to Ferrari. In particular, according to what has been gathered by ‘Motorsport Italia’, the solution has already been promoted and should officially debut on track for the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa. Good results in particular in telemetry and on the dynamic dyno, more cautious instead Leclerc.
To go into more detail, ‘La Stampa’ explains that Ferrari unveiled a suspension with completely new upper arms, as evidenced by a different attachment to the chassis than seen so far. The internal elements would also undergo a’thorough overhaul.
