San Siro flunked: after Champions, goodbye to Euro 2032

Iconic, fascinating, historic but also outdated and inadequate to the needs of today&#8217s soccer. San Siro gets another rejection. After losing the chance to host the 2027 Champions League final, the Meazza is also excluded from Euro 2032 stadiums.

At the moment, San Siro does not have the necessary requirements to be able to convince Uefa to include it in the list of facilities that will host some matches of Euro 2032, an event assigned to Italy, along with Turkey.

This means that, as of today, Milan, home to two of Europe&#8217s most prestigious clubs, namely Inter and AC Milan, will not host any matches of the 2032 European Championships. Another stain for the city of Milan but also a “call” for action to be taken before it is really too late.

Considering that even a major renovation would not change anything, the’only possible way forward is the construction of a new stadium. The dead line to deliver the final list is set for October 2026. The hope is that Milan will be able to get all parties involved to agree and kick off a project that now becomes urgent and not only to be among the five stadiums that will host Euro 2032 matches (at the moment, only Turin’s Allianz Stadium is certain to have all the necessary requirements).
