Mateo Retegui says goodbye to Atalanta and Serie A: "It was an honor"
Atalanta soccer market: Mateo Retegui has left Bergamo and Serie A, with his move to the Saudis of the’Al-Qadsiah becoming official on Monday evening. However, the Italian national team striker wished to bid farewell to the team and the square that allowed him to graduate as the league’s top scorer before his departure for Saudi Arabia.

His sale will allow Atalanta, which a few hours earlier had greeted him with equal affection, to cash a check for 68 million euros. It is the second most lucrative sale in history for the orobico club, after Rasmus Hojlund’s sale to Manchester United. Retegui himself has been promised a dream salary, as Al-Qadsiah will pay him about 20 million a year for four seasons.
