Como overwhelms Ajax and leaves everyone stunned: 3-0 to the Lancers

A knockout Como unceremoniously knocked out one of Europe&#8217s most successful and emblazoned teams like Ajax, defeating them 3-0 on a glorious evening at Sinigaglia Stadium. Two penalties were decisive, one for each half, converted by Nico Paz and Tasos Douvikas interspersed with Martin Baturina&#8217s fine diagonal pass.

So the Como Cup goes to the hosts, but it is mainly the way the Larians win the final that leaves one stunned. This is shown by the fact that Nico Paz hits the post after just 3 minutes, and then goes close to the lead again with Addai and Nico Paz himself. Who eventually managed to score by smoothly converting a penalty awarded on 26′ for a foul suffered by Addai himself.

L’Ajax tried to attack but did not create any real headaches for Como, which actually doubled in the first minute of the second half thanks to a lethal low shot by Baturina triggered by Jesus Rodriguez. From one new acquisition to the next, and Como doubles.

The match remains largely one-sided, so much so that Jesus Rodriguez again sows panic in the Ajax rearguard at 63′: this time Verschuren knocks him down in the box, and on the penalty spot comes Douvikas going once again to score for Como. There was about half an hour left, in which it was still Cesc Fabregas’ players who made themselves more dangerous than the Lancers. Frightening not a little the future opponents who will face the Azzurri in the Serie A that kicks off next month.
