Federico Baschirotto says goodbye to Lecce and returns to Cremonese

After 3 years at Lecce, Federico Baschirotto has decided to return to Cremonese after 10 years. This is the statement from the grigiorosso club: “U.S. Cremonese announces that it has acquired outright the sports performance of the footballer Federico Baschirotto from the club US Lecce“.

“Born in Isola della Scala (VR) on September 20, 1996, Baschirotto grew up footballingly in the Veneto region and made his debut among the big boys at the age of 17 with Legnago. A few months later he began his first experience at Cremo: in grigiorosso he played in the Viareggio Tournament with the Berretti team and was called up several times by the first team. After a long apprenticeship between the third and fourth series, in 2021 he moved to Ascoli and was among the protagonists of the bianconeri’s great Serie B championship, which won the playoffs“

“2022 is the year of the big leap, with the’debut in Serie A as a player at Lecce: in the three years he lived in Giallorossi he collected 112 appearances in the top league, until becoming captain of the Salentini with whom he won three consecutive salvations. In May 2023 he was included among the pre-convened players of Italy coach Roberto Mancini to face the final phase of the Nations League“.

Baschirotto, who also wore the captain’s armband in Lecce, wanted to thank his former club: “You allowed me to fulfill the dream of every footballer and I will be forever grateful. I have tried to repay the trust of the Club and the’love of the Fans by sweating the shirt, every day”.
