Laurynas Beliauskas in Sassari: "I had no doubt"

Through an official note, Dinamo Sassari announced the signing of Laurynas Beliauskas, a 1997 Lithuanian playmaker/guard from Juventus Utena, a formation of the Lithuanian top league with which he faced Dinamo in last year’s Basketball Champions League qualifiers in Antalya.
Born in Klaipeda on March 2, 1997, 192 centimeters tall, Beliauskas is a modern outside player: reliable in playmaking, dangerous in shooting from three and capable of attacking the iron. He took his first steps in the youth sector of Neptunas Klaipeda, with which he made his very young debut in the first team in the 2014/2015 season. In 2015, he also participated in the Euroleague Next Gen Tournament with Zalgiris Kaunas, winning the three-point shooting competition.
After a training phase between the Lithuanian first and second leagues (with Neptunas Akvaservis), he exploded in the 2019/2020 season at Nevezis, finishing with 15.4 points, 4.2 assists, and 2.2 rebounds average in 13 LKL games. Performances that earned him the call of Obradoiro: in Spain he stays until 2022, confirming himself as a solid player. In 2022/23 he lands in the German Bundesliga with the Frankfurt Skyliners, signing one of his best seasons statistically: 13.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists in 30 minutes of average usage, shooting with 42.3% from three.
In 2023/24 he moved to Greece, to Paok Thessaloniki, also playing 9 Basketball Champions League games with 9.1 points average. In the regular season of the Hellenic league, however, he records 8.6 points and 2.9 rebounds per game. During same year he also experiences another stint in Poland with Stal Ostrow Wielkopolski: here he records career-best numbers, with 17.4 points, 3.4 rebounds and 4.9 assists in 11 games, maintaining almost 45 percent from the arc. Last season, finally, he wore the Juventus Utena jersey: in the Lithuanian LKL he produced 13.1 points, 3.1 assists and 2.7 rebounds on average, rising to 14.5 points in the two playoff games.
Banco di Sardegna’s new outfielder has been a part of all of Lithuania’s youth selections, from the Under 16 to the Under 20, even making it to the senior national team, with which he played four EuroBasket 2025 qualifying games alongside former Biancoblu captain Eimantas Bendzius.
“I have known Dinamo for a long time, and after talking to the coach, I was convinced right away – admitted the new acquisition -: I liked the project, the vision of the club and my role within the team. I had no doubts, I felt right from the start that Sassari was the right place for me”.

At this stage of my career I want to measure myself against the best European leagues, and Italy is certainly among them.
