World Swimming Championships 2025: the final medal table, Italy finishes ninth

Italy finishes ninth in the medal standings at the World Swimming Championships in Singapore, won by China with an impressive 15 golds, ahead of Australia (13) and the United States (10). Thanks to the bronze obtained by Benedetta Pilato in the 50 breaststroke, Italy ends the rainbow event with 19 medals overall (2 golds, 11 silvers and 6 bronzes).

The two gold medals came with Chiara Pellacani and Matteo Santoro who triumphed in the three-meter springboard mixed synchro and with Simone Cerasuolo who won in the 50 breaststroke.

As for the silvers, however, three by Ginevra Taddeucci, in the 5- and 10-kilometer and the knock out sprint, two by Gregorio Paltrinieri, in the 5- and 10-kilometer, one in the mixed 4×1500 (Marcello Guidi, Barbara Pozzobon, Ginevra Taddeucci, Gregorio Paltrinieri), one in the 4×men’s 100 freestyle (Carlos D’Ambrosio, Thomas Ceccon, Lorenzo Zazzeri, and Manuel Frigo), one in the duo free routine (Enrica Piccoli and Lucrezia Ruggiero), one by Nicolò Martinenghi in the 100 breaststroke, one by Simona Quadarella in the 1500 freestyle, and one by Thomas Ceccon in the 100 backstroke.

Finally, bronze was won by Filippo Pelati in the solo free routine, Lucrezia Ruggiero and Filippo Pelati in the mixed duo technical routine, Chiara Pellacani in the 1-meter springboard and 3-meter springboard, Thomas Ceccon in the 50 butterfly and, as mentioned above, Benedetta Pilato in the 50 breaststroke.
