Marco Silvestri starts again from Cremonese. Through a statement published on its official website, the grigiorosso club announced that it has signed the former Empoli man, thus completing the goalkeeping department at coach Davide Nicola’s disposal.
A highly experienced goalkeeper, he was born in Castelnovo ne’ Monti (RE) on March 2, 1991, and received his football training in the youth sector of Modena with which, at only 18 years of age, he made his debut among the Pros. After experiences between Serie C and Serie B with Reggiana and Padova, he wore the jerseys of Chievo Verona and Cagliari and then moved to Leeds United: in England he played for three seasons and collected a total of 98 appearances (and 23 clean sheets) between league and Cup.
In 2017, the return to Italy and rich experiences with Hellas Verona (from 2017 to 2021) and Udinese (from 2021 to 2024). In the season just ended he took the field with Sampdoria and Empoli. In total he boasts 169 matches in Serie A, 38 of which he closed with an unbeaten goal.
On Saturday, August 16, it will be time for Cremonese’s first official engagement of the new season: in fact, the Lombard club will be engaged at the Zini against Palermo for the 32nd final of the Coppa Italia.
