Jasmine Paolini failed to break the Iga Swiatek taboo in the final of the WTA 1000 in Cincinnati. The Tuscan came out defeated for the sixth time out of as many challenges with the Polish player: “Meanwhile, I would like to congratulate Iga who was very strong again this time”.

“I would like to thank the Federation – added l’Azzurra in statements during the award ceremony -, my coach Federico Gaio and a special greeting to Sara Errani, my teacher and doubles partner“, with whom she was eliminated in the semifinals by the Guo/Panova pair.

“Thanks also to the audience, always very affectionate with me: you have always supported me and pushed me to give my best these days. I had a bit of a complicated weeks before I got here and you helped me find the strength to make it to the finals”.

Finally, Paolini dedicated a thought to Jannik Sinner, who was forced to retire after only five games in the men&#8220s final against Carlos Alcaraz: “I also wish Jannik to be back on the court soon. See you at the US Open“.
