Pecco Bagnaia crashes Ducati GP25, Dall'Igna pulls straight: "Bike very similar to GP24"

In Hungary Pecco Bagnaia for the first time in two years did not qualify for Q2 of MotoGP qualifying, confirming once again his crisis of confidence and very poor feeling with the Ducati GP25. The Sprint race further certified the downward spiral of the Piedmontese rider, the’only Ducati centaur not to finish in the top 10 on a Saturday dominated by the Borgo Panigale manufacturer.
His teammate Marc Marquez in fact topped the Sprint race ahead of another Ducati GP25, that of Fabio Di Giannantonio. In third place came the other Ducati VR46 of Franco Morbidelli, and the two Team Gresini riders Alex Marquez and Fermin Aldeguer also finished in the top 10.
The Ducati VR46 team’s general manager, Mr. Marquez, was the first rider to win the Sprint race.
Ducati general manager Gigi Dall’Igna commented after the race: “As we have always said, the GP25 and GP24 bikes are very similar, the 25 is simply an evolution of the 24. We are evolving it during the season and then each rider then chooses the material they prefer. I believe that by working we can always do well”.
Dall’Igna also explained where Marc Marquez is making a difference: “Marc is precise in the lines, he never makes mistakes, he always manages to brake hard, he always closes the line at the same point and that always makes an incredible difference, maybe for that reason he takes you 30-40 thousandths per braking, which is a lot then if you add it up at the end of the lap”.
“Also he has in the entry his strong point, especially in the left entry, and he definitely uses a lot of understeer, he definitely brings the front wheel to the limit a lot more than others, which is one of the hardest things to do”.
