These are the words of Saliou Niang in the aftermath of the success over Spain at the European Basketball Championships. For him also a sigh of relief because the tests he underwent ruled out major ankle injuries, but still he will not play tomorrow against Cyprus.

“This is a challenging and very good summer for me, but I feel I have improved over these months. Every day I am trying to figure out how to progress but so far I am very pleased with what we have done as a team and how I am doing on the field.”

“I hope to continue like this and I hope the path in this European is still long. I really like the way we all help each other, especially in difficult times. We have fun and we are good together putting into practice the first commandment of the Poz, which is to always give each other a hand.”

He is echoed by his national teammate, and now also at Virtus Bologna, Momo Diouf: “The victory against Spain is worth so much because it was obtained with effort against a team of very good young people and is coached by a super coach like Scariolo. We showed that we are not to be outdone. We are already in the round of 16 but we want to continue our path also because we are having fun”.
