For Group C of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, the time has come for the debut: the challenge between Denmark and Scotland is immediately crucial to gauge the ambitions of both national teams, with the Danes seeking their third consecutive qualification and the Scots instead aspiring to take part in the rainbow event for the first time since back in 1998.

Denmark is led by Brian Riemer, who took over from Lars Knudsen last November.

On the pitch, the Danish coach is relying on both veterans such as goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel and talented youngsters such as Patrick Dorgu and Rasmus Hojlund, the latter fresh off a return to Serie A in the final days of the soccer market, with Napoli convincing Manchester United to sell him on loan with a right of redemption.

About Napoli, on the other side of the pitch will be, at Parken Stadium in Copenhagen, one of the pillars of the Parthenopeans’ fourth Scudetto, Scott McTominay. He and Andrew Robertson are the charismatic leaders of a talented group that wants to finally dispel the taboo of World Cup qualification after nearly 30’years of fasting.
