There is one statistic from the last Us Open that leaves tennis fans incredulous: Amanda Anisimova’s average backhand speed (almost 124 km/h) is higher than both Jannik Sinner’s (120.7 km/h) and Carlos Alcaraz’s (117.5 km/h).

Analyzing this data was French coach Patrick Mouratoglou, in a video shared on his Instagram profile: “Statistics showed this year that there’s one woman who is hitting faster than Alcaraz and Sinner: Amanda Anisimova”.

“It doesn&#8220t surprise me when you talk about her backhand– added the transalpine coach. It&#8217s a shot she trusts 1,000,000%. She hits it full court and does not apply effect”.

Anisimova has reached as many as two Slam finals this season but was defeated on both occasions: at Wimbledon she surrendered to Iga Swiatek who overwhelmed her with a resounding double bagel, while at the Us Open she was overcome by Aryna Sabalenka (3-6 6-7).
