Jannik Sinner warns Carlos Alcaraz
Following his defeat in the US Open final against Carlos Alcaraz, which also robbed him of his world tennis throne and with whom he will cross paths again in the Shanghai Masters 1000, Jannik Sinner returned to speak at the press conference at the ATP 500 in Beijing, in which he is set to make his debut against Croatian veteran Marin Čilić. Here are the words of the world number 2, who sends a clear message of his desire for a rematch to his Spanish friend-rival.
“We definitely need some time to put all the things in the right place, however, we are working very hard, in a fair and very balanced way. I don’t have to and I don’t want to forget my identity, which is fundamental to being a strong player. However, as I said, I have to put a little something inside and then we will see what I can do in these two tournaments (Beijing and Shanghai, ed.).”
“The answer has always been on the court, however, we are working for me to be a better player, to do all the things in a better way. Hopefully, all this will also be the response on the field: then whether I am better in Shanghai or a little bit’ later changes relatively little.”
