Charles Leclerc vented after the weekend to forget in Singapore: “We lost fifteen seconds in the last ten to fifteen laps… I had to manage the brakes for the whole race and that’s not the best. It was a problem for everyone, I think, but for us it was at an exaggerated level. The end of the race was very difficult. It was a really difficult race, unfortunately in line with how the rest of the weekend”.

“Since Friday we have struggled to find the right feeling with the car and we have never been able to put everything together as we would have liked. Today in traffic it was not possible to make progress having to deal with some cooling problems as well. Unfortunately, today’s placing reflects our current value. In the last two races we have encountered several difficulties that we need to analyze in detail in order to resume improvement. The goal is to return in two weeks to the United States better prepared and ready to fight again with our main opponents”.

Less negative Lewis Hamilton, despite the penalty that cost him seventh place: “The last few days have been challenging, but there are definitely positives to be gathered. I felt comfortable all weekend and we had a great pace in the last third of the race”.
“The soft tires gave us a great pace to go on the attack and allowed me to close a wide gap to the cars in front, but unfortunately a brake problem cost us an overtake and the chance to score more points. We had the potential to be further ahead this weekend starting with qualifying: now the goal is to maximize our package ahead of Austin and execute everything perfectly to bring home as many points as possible”.
