Niccolò Pisilli starring in Under 21 sends message to Roma
Niccolò Pisilli has been overpoweringly revitalized in the Under-21 side, scoring two of the goals that marked Italy’s 4-0 victory over Sweden’s peers. The young midfielder is not finding as much satisfaction or space in Gian Piero Gasperini’s new Roma side, assuring, however, that this is not a problem at the moment.
“I always think about working and I want to improve constantly – Pisilli told the microphones of ‘Rai Sport’ -When I take the field I aim to give 100% on every occasion, whether it is with the national team or with Roma. Then on some occasions things can go better and on others worse. When I return to Trigoria I will talk to Gasperini, but with him I have no problem”.
The great satisfaction remains for the 4-0 win obtained by Italy Under 21. “The grade I give the team is very high – said Pisilli -We played really well as a group, and the fact that we scored two goals is thanks to my teammates. Then my second goal came after a really wonderful action. More generally, we played courageously, starting from behind and turning the’action”.
Pisilli at the moment has collected only two tokens in Serie A, along with one in the Europa League. That’s a far less impact on Roma than in 2024-2025, when he was called upon 28 times in the league while also netting two goals, and 11 in the cup with one goal to his credit. But the season, his first in the Giallorossi with Gian Piero Gasperini on the bench, has just begun.
