Tomorrow Lorenzo Sonego, world number 45, will play his Paris Masters 1000 round of 16 match against Russian Daniil Medvedev, former number 1 and now number 13.

The match is the fifth and final scheduled on court number 1 at the Defense Arena, and the third, the one between Ben Shelton and Andrey Rublev, will begin no earlier than 2:30 p.m., so it is plausible that Sonego and Medvedev will take the court in the evening.

The record is all in Medvedev’s favor: three wins out of three. In 2023, the Turin native retired at 7-6 2-1 in favor of the Russian in the first round in Adelaide.

Also two years ago Medvedev prevailed in the second round of the Monte Carlo Masters 1000 6-3 6-2, finally last year he prevailed 3-6 6-3 6-3 in the Dubai round of 16.
