Tomorrow, on the Center Court of the Defense Arena, world No. 2 Jannik Sinner will face Germany’s Alexander Zverev, No. 3, in the second semifinal of the Masters 1000 on the indoor concrete in Paris.

The first semifinal will be played, not before 2:30 p.m., by Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, who wants to snatch the last spot for the ATP Finals in Turin from Lorenzo Musetti, and Russian-Kazakhstan’s Alexander Bublik.

Sinner and Zverev, on the other hand, will take the court no earlier than 5 p.m. The previous head-to-head confrontations are perfectly even: four wins on each side. The first was won by Jannik in 2020, 6-3 6-3 4-6 6-3 in the round of 16 at Roland Garros.

Then came four consecutive wins for Sascha: 7-6 6-3 in the semifinals in Cologne in 2020, 6-4 6-4 7-6 in the round of 16 at the US Open 2021, 6-7 6-3 7-6 in the quarterfinals of the Monte Carlo Masters 1000 2022, and 6-4 3-6 6-2 4-6 6-3 in 2023 again in the round of 16 at the US Open.

Finally, the last three matches Sinner has taken home: 7-6 5-7 7-6 in the semifinals in Cincinnati in 2024, then this year 6-3 7-6 6-3 in the Australian Open final, and finally 3-6 6-3 7-5 in last week’s Vienna final.
