Five Mills, Pietro Arese will also be there

Another top blue medalist in the cast of the 93rd Cinque Mulini, which returns Sunday, Nov. 23, on the fields of San Vittore Olona (Milan, Italy), three weeks before the Dec. 14 European XC Championships in Lagoa, Portugal. The organizing committee announced that one of the reigning European cross relay champions will take the start.
On the men’s side on the 8.2 kilometers will be Pietro Arese, a two-time gold medalist at the continental event thanks to successes three years ago in Venaria Reale and last season in Antalya. The Turin-born member of the Fiamme Gialle, a European bronze medalist in the 1500 meters at Rome 2024, competed in the last edition of the Lombardy ‘classicissima’ (10.2 kilometers in that case) where he placed 15th.
Arese’s name joins that of a big name such as world bronze medalist and European marathon champion Iliass Aouani (Fiamme Azzurre), already announced in recent days.
In the meantime, Unione Sportiva San Vittore Olona 1906 announces that the event adheres to the “Italy of the Games” program, promoted by the Milan-Cortina 2026 Foundation: “The participation of the Cinque Mulini – comment the organizers – and its initiatives, from international races to student competitions to trophies for differently abled athletes, from sustainability projects to paths of social inclusion, represents a recognition of the history and commitment of our association in spreading sports culture and well-being in the community.”
