Award "Allies with You" special dedication by Carlo Calcagni

Role of Honor Colonel Carlo Calcagni, a victim of duty, wounded and maimed in the line of duty, will be among the protagonists of the prestigious 2025 edition of the “Allies with You” Award, an award that does not simply celebrate excellence, but focuses on women victims of violence, their dignity, their rebirth and their voices too often stifled.
Calcagni, who for twenty-three years has been fighting not only against a very serious illness, a consequence of exposure to depleted uranium, but even more against a bureaucracy that weighs like a boulder symbolically embodies the resistance of those who do not give in to injustice.
The ceremony will be held on November 26, 2025 at the Teatro Parioli Costanzo, a symbolic place dedicated to the journalist’s memory.
Leading the evening will be President Catia Acquesta, a journalist, writer and the soul of the “Allies with You” association, which has been committed to protecting victims of violence for more than 20 years with dedication, heart and a strength that saves lives.
In a parterre of illustrious names from the institutional, artistic and social world, the presence of Colonel Calcagni takes on a profound meaning: violence is not only physical violence, but also that of silence, indifference, bureaucracy and injustice.
“I dedicate this award to all women who have seen parts of themselves extinguished, but who have not allowed violence to erase their light. To you, who fight every day to be believed, respected, protected. To you, who know pain, but choose rebirth. Violence may affect you, but it cannot define you. Your dignity is worth more than any wound” explains the Paralympic champion.
