Adriano Panatta in an interview with Radio Deejay revealed that Jannik Sinner is becoming almost a torment for him: “There was a time when tennis did not interest me. Now I am obliged to know everything about tennis, every time they stop me on the street and the classic question is: “How is Sinner? '”. The ’former blue tennis player wryly pointed out that he doesn&#8217t know the South Tyrolean so well: “Maybe Bertolucci knows him a little bit’ more, I will have seen him twice in my life, just… What did we say to each other? Hello hello, how are you, good good. That&#8217s all Sinner and I said to each other”.

.

The Blue and Alcaraz are dominating the scene: “The era of Djokovic, Federer and Nadal was different: there were also Del Potro, Wawrinka, Tsonga. More competition. Now there are two men alone in charge: like in cycling with Pogacar. In the 1970s, if you go and look at the world rankings, all the top 10 had won at least one Slam. There was more balance”. Panatta is not so optimistic about the future of tennis: “The game has uniformed, it depends a lot on the’tool or the coach, the strikers are not there anymore and you don&#8217t go down to the net anymore. As in all sports, tennis has become more physical and less technical. I predicted that in 10-15 years they will all be NBA-type players: 2.10-2.15 tall, serving at 350 per hour”.

Panatta in a recent interview on Rai also spoke about himself: “I was never very present for my children, when they were very young I was always traveling around the world. Unfortunately it was my job, I could not do otherwise. I made many mistakes, even years when I completely isolated myself. The merit of Anna, my wife, was just that, she gave me back the joy of putting myself out there a little bit, starting over a little bit, doing things I didn’t do before. At one point I was just going to the office, working, then going home, never going out. I had also lost contact with friends. And it was a not so good time”.
