Serie A 2025-2026: Milan-Lazio, the likely lineups

Reduced by the triumph in the derby against Inter and on the strength of a positive streak that between the league and Coppa Italia has now lasted 12 games, Milan returns to the pitch Saturday night at 8:45 p.m. to face Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio. The Rossoneri, who are second with 25 points, are playing for a lot: the standings are very short, with six teams bunched within just three points, from Roma’s 27 to Inter, Bologna and Como’s 24.
The league table is very short, with six teams bunched within just three points, from Roma’s 27 to Inter, Bologna and Como’s 24.
The eve, however, is marked by the offensive emergency. Massimiliano Allegri has to deal with the absence of Christian Pulisic, decisive in the stracittadina, and that of Santiago Gimenez, still struggling with an ankle problem. The choices in attack are therefore forced: alongside Rafael Leao will be Christopher Nkunku, author so far of only one goal in a Rossoneri shirt, last Sept. 23 against Lecce. Good news instead for Alexis Saelemaekers, recovered after the discomfort suffered in training.
Lazio, for its part, arrives at the San Siro with the desire to redeem the ko in the same stadium last Nov. 9 against Inter. Sarri has to give up Cataldi in midfield, but finds Mario Gila in defense, ready to form the central pair with Romagnoli, the former of the evening. In attack, Castellanos is expected to start from the bench, while the trident will consist of Boulaye Dia in the center, with Isaksen and Zaccagni on the outsides. On the left lane, in defense, it is a ballot between Luca Pellegrini and Nuno Tavares, with the former favored.
Probable lineups
Milan (3-5-2): Maignan; Tomori, Gabbia, Pavlovic; Saelemaekers, Fofana, Modric, Rabiot, Bartesaghi; Leao, Nkunku. All. Allegri.
Lazio (4-3-3): Provedel; Marusic, Gila, Romagnoli, Pellegrini; Guendouzi, Vecino, Basic; Isaksen, Dia, Zaccagni. All. Sarri.
