Martino DavidiJasmine Paolini stellar: attributed hilarious statements to Nicola Pietrangeli

Nicola Pietrangeli was a great champion of tennis, this is beyond doubt
Some of his recent utterances have created a bit' of turmoil
One sentence in particular about Jannik Sinner has angered in many
"Sinner strongest Italian ever. Perhaps even Austrian" said ironically one day
"Among women Nicola Pietrangeli appreciates Jasmine Paolini…
… and here 'Lercio', funny satirical page of great success, did not miss the'opportunity
"Pietrangeli also attacks Jasmine Paolini: 'I was a better tennis player'" the'ultim'hour launched by the diabolical editorial
Beyond everything and the splendid success in Rome…
… for Jasmine, in recent days, there's also been the occasion of a long-distance clash with another 'holy monster' of the racket
Adriano Panatta has been decidedly critical of Coco Gauff, beaten by the Tuscan in the final at the Foro Italico…

…and Jasmine did not back down in defending her colleague…

… towards which he expressed admiration and solidarity
But now there's a new dialectical rival: Nicola Pietrangeli. At least for satire….

.

“He loved women’s tennis – says Tathiana – In the days when Jannik won the Next Gen, we used to talk to Nicola and Lea Pericoli and he used to say that women should have short balls. We heard a lot of funny advice, we remember him with a lot of love. Nicola is an extraordinary person who left us with an important memory, not only because of the legend he was but because he was a person who knew how to bring a smile even in the most difficult moments. Like Lea Pericoli, Nicola brought so much elegance sportsmanship. Today we have idols, extraordinary guys who bring examples that are good for sports in general”.

48 years old from Venice, Garbin as a player was world number 22 in 2007. In 2004 in the second round of Roland Garros she achieved her most prestigious victory by beating she who at that time was No. 1, Belgium’s Justine Henin. Just in Paris, in 2007, she achieved her best performance in a Slam, the round of 16. She won one WTA tournament, in Budapest in 2000. She retired from competitive play in 2011, and since 2016 she has been the captain of the Billie Jean King Cup Italian team, which led to the final loss to Canada in 2023 and triumphs in 2024 with Slovakia and in 2025 with the United States.

Pietrangeli, born in Tunis, then a French protectorate, on Sept. 11, 1933, moved to Rome, Italy, after World War II. He was the first Italian to win a Grand Slam tournament, Roland Garros, twice, in 1959 and 1960, also losing two finals, in 1961 and 1964. He also won two editions of the Internazionali d’Italia, in 1957 in Rome and 1961 in Turin, and three of the Monte Carlo tournament in 1961, 1967 and 1968. In total he won 48 tournaments in the period from 1955 to 1970. He was also a great doubles player: he won 11 tournaments paired with Orlando Sirola, among them Roland Garros in 1959 and Rome in 1960.
