Recently Jannik Sinner won the ATP ‘Fans’ Favourite’ award for the third year in a row, an award reserved for the favorite athlete of all the fans in the world. Messages of congratulations arrived from all over the world, and Fabrizio Biasin also decided to expose himself: “For the third consecutive year Jannik Sinner wins the ATP ‘Fans Favourite’ award. The Italian tennis player, who also won in 2023 and 2024 and is the current world No. 2, is confirmed as a favorite among fans around the world. So much for those who want to hurt him”. The’last sentence unleashed the South Tyrolean tennis player&#8217s haters who lashed out in the comments section.

The U.S. tennis player talked about the two champions who are monopolizing the circuit
"I think Carlos and Jannik are not unbeatable", he told Andy Roddick’s podcast
"I faced Alcaraz twice, in the two Grand Slams he won, and we went to the fifth set"

"I think I missed an'opportunity at Wimbledon, when we were tied 3-3 in the fifth set…"
"Are they hard to beat? Definitely"
"But I would sign to play on a circuit where there are only two big champions to beat", said Tiafoe, making a reference to the'Big Three era

“An Italian winning an award given by a’company whose CEO is Italian. How strange” one user wrote. “Surely Carlos Alcaraz would have won but we Italians are more fanatical than the Spaniards and they had to accommodate us” polemicized another. This is not the first time that Fabrizio Biasin&#8217s posts regarding Jannik Sinner have heated up tempers on social media: after the South Tyrolean’s triumph at the Atp Finals in Turin, the journalist and influencer wrote: “Jannik Sinner, the greatest athlete in Italian sports.” A huge debate broke out in the comments section: “Calm down dear Biasin, we also have excellences in other disciplines,” wrote one user, “These statements are really ridiculous…and what would be the parameter to say that he is greater than the Italian women volleyball players?” commented another. They could not miss the unfortunate comments regarding the nationality of the South Tyrolean: “Blue? I didn’t know Austria’s color was blue…” read another comment.

Given Jannik Sinner&#8217s prominence and popularity, it is not surprising that a debate is sparked over anything about him. The racquetball star, like the great champion he is, has never intervened to avoid fueling unnecessary controversy. Despite his young age, Jannik Sinner shows a rare maturity, but great credit must also be given to those around him and those who advise him on communication (and other) strategies. Filed the post-season break, the champion is back to putting tennis at the center of his daily routine, putting behind him the vacation period spent with girlfriend Laila Hasanovic and the spotlight (also) on him in the last Formula 1 season weekend in Abu Dhabi.

The South Tyrolean has therefore resumed his preparation ahead of a season that promises to be crucial, which comes after a 2025 that has consecrated him, along with Carlos Alcaraz, as the circuit’s ruler: the two who have shared the four Slams and monopolized the world stage, certifying their superiority with impressive numbers on and off the court.

The year 2026, then, opens with new challenges. Remaining in the UAE after watching the F1 race, Sinner held a training session with Simona Halep, former WTA No. 1, under the watchful eye of Darren Cahill. The Australian coach, confirmed on the staff for the new season as well, followed both of them on their path to the top of the world rankings and documented on social media some moments of the preparation, filming in particular an exchange closed by Sinner with a winning short ball. “A pair of champions,” the South Tyrolean’s supercoach wrote on Instagram
