Reduced by two consecutive defeats in the European arena, but also by two knockouts in a row in the Eurocup, Reyer Venezia wants to raise its head again in Wednesday night’s match against Bahcesehir, a club from the Turkish league, in order not to miss the train of qualification to the next phase. The orogranata coach, Neven Spahija, is also hoping for the court factor to reverse the trend of the last period.

“After the game in Trento, where our effort was not enough, we gave a clear message to the team: we must always play our best, regardless of the final result – said Spahija -. This mentality must be part of our DNA. We face one of the best lineups in the’EuroCup: they play a high level of basketball and in the’first leg they beat us decisively.”.

“Together with our fans we want to deliver a better performance and return to victory– added Spahija, also appealing to the support of the Orogranata crowd for the game scheduled at Taliercio at 8 p.m. on Wednesday – They boast an extraordinary offense: to win we will have to be good at limiting their many offensive options”.

At the presentation of the game, wing Carl Wheatle also spoke: “We know the’importance of this contest– he said -: we play at home and we want to get back to expressing our basketball for all 40 minutes, redeeming the last two defeats. We face one of the strongest teams in the’EuroCup, so we will need a complete performance and everyone”s contribution to win.

“We will have to be good at taking away their strengths: they have a lot of points in the hands of the guards and they can count on a long man like Williams who is having a great championship. Lately we have been conceding too many offensive rebounds: we have to control the boards, because that allows us to impose our rhythm. The key will be a great defensive effort” concluded the Briton.
