Fiorentina market, Edin Dzeko at the crossroads: an old friend tempts him

Florentin soccer club: Edin Dzeko is one of the symbols of the crisis that is gripping the lily-livered team during this season that is simply disastrous at the moment. The Bosnian joined Florence last July, never imagining he would find himself five months later at the bottom of the Serie A standings. It certainly did not help his popularity to take a stance against the fans and their protests, but this aspect did not cement him as a team leader either. So much so that a resounding farewell from him could already be consummated in January, albeit after a journey that may not be long at all.

It is about ‘La Nazione’, according to which an old friend of his is calling Dzeko in these hours. It is Daniele De Rossi, formerly his teammate at Roma and who has since become coach of Genoa. The Rossoblù coach could enrich the team with a player of great quality, experience and charisma, moreover helping the Bosnian to relaunch himself in the Grifone shirt. The question is open: it remains to be seen whether or not the person concerned is willing to leave Fiorentina at such an overtly difficult time. After all, last Thursday in the Conference League he wore the captain’s armband against Lausanne.

“When my agent told me about Fiorentina, I wanted to sign right away – Dzeko said in July, on the occasion of his presentation in the purple -I had no other ideas in my head. But that of Genoa may not be the’only option for Dzeko in January. ‘La Nazione’ talks about an even shorter trip: from Florence to Pisa. The experienced center forward would be proposed to the Nerazzurri, traveling the same miles that Dunga did in 1988 but reversing the destination and place of departure. However, this hypothesis appears less viable.

The Pisa would in fact be frightened by the’high salary that Dzeko is expected to receive. A detail that would not instead represent a problem for Cagliari, the third option for a player who at Fiorentina has certainly not found great luck at least for the moment. And who, somewhat surprisingly, could go looking for it elsewhere.
