N’Golo Kanté is officially a Fenerbahçe player. The deal was unblocked on Tuesday evening (the market closes in Turkey on Friday), just over four months before the start of the World Cup. The French midfielder signed a contract until 2028.

The French national player (65 appearances and 2 goals) will not only star in the local league, as Fenerbahçe is still engaged in the Europa League and will face Nottingham Forest in the playoffs.

Recently returned to the national team after a year’s absence, Kanté is clearly aiming to be on the list of Bleus who will fly for the World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada.

Transferred to Arabia in July 2023 from Chelsea, Kanté won the league-cup double title last season with Al-Ittihad. He played 105 games in all competitions with the Saudi club, netting 10 goals and providing 11 assists.
